"Some of the best things in life have come from happy accidents - play-doh, super glue, our baby brother Dan. So, channeling the immortal words of spirit guide Bob Ross "we don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents. " We're stoked to introduce our Happy Little Accident. What started as a batch of one of our signature beers became something almighty - this Australian style IPA ripe with notes of grapefruit, citrus, and tropical fruits. The combination of Amarillo, Mosaic, and Citra hops is like a landscape painting taking shape in your mouth. Time to tap in and taste the trees."

neat beer, not sure what they were going for when they accidentally brewed a double ipa, seems like a hard thing to miss something else and land on, but here we are apparently. its nice beer, lighter than its abv would suggest, and well hopped without being very bitter. its also sort of estery to me, could be from the hops, but to me its maybe yeast derived, like almost belgian, or at least fruity like a kolsch strain can sometimes be, neat with the hops either way, big orange and lemon, some pine back there, a little honey floral character, and some definite juiciness without it being sweet at any point, modern to me. the flavor is citrus forward too, with light back end grassiness and spice from the hops bit held back bitterness for sure. subtle pear and green grape with the ferment factored in, lemongrass and even a hint of sage, pretty neat hop complexion, lemon candy as it warms, some oils but not like crazy dank, pretty quick finishing, clean on the back end despite the earlier yeast influence. good carbonation, clarity, and in some ways simplicity, but it stands as a bit unique still, very drinkable for its strength, no sign of that here really at all. it was great to get to drink some beers from these guys, they are definitely making some cool stuff!

A very drinkable unfiltered IPA (only 22 IBU). Not West coast and not East coast, it is down under coast! They claim it to be an Australian style IPA. I would buy this again.

I don't know what possessed me to buy this. Well, I do. It was a pleasant surprise when I revisited an old favorite from these guys.
But this chance I took just reinforces my earlier choice to abandon this brand.
There's nothing gross about this beer. It's just your standard American ipa. 8% abv with Amarillo, Mosaic, and Citra. But for some reason (marketing bs) they call it an "Australian-style" ipa. And they admit it's the result of an imperfect batch of one of their flagship brews. Crazy trashy move in my mind.
At the end of the day it's a soft bodied, fruity, mildly bitter ipa. My guess is that it's a batch of their flagship hazy that came out with a sharper bitterness than normal.
It is what it is. This is beer in 2024. Not bad. I won't likely ever buy it again
