Presents as a robust porter. It is black and opaque with a tan head. The aroma is rich and roasty with a pleasant earthy note from the rye. The aroma carries through nicely into the flavor. The malt sweetness is balanced nicely by assertive hop bitterness and coffee notes. The rye contributes and earthy spice that keeps it interesting. Overall, an enjoyable beer. I would definitely order it again.
