I happened to be in Alvin, TX; gotta admit I was not expecting much in terms of finding a good beer place... Drove around a bit and this place looked like the best chance. I was very pleasantly surprised. Great selection on tap, including a couple Jolly Pumpkin's. Beer menu separated by flavor profile. Nice selection of sours/funky beer. Good bottle selection, including some hard to find Jester King bottles.

Didn't plan to eat, but the menu had a bunch of tempting stuff. I got the Pepper BLT. It was great.

This place may even be worth a trip to Alvin just to grab some good beer!

Located on the main street in Alvin, Gordon Street... hence the name.

This place was much needed in Alvin, Texas.

Around 30 to 33 taps. Almost all are craft beer.... they still have Dos Equis on tap and usually a Shiner or two, so it depends on your thoughts on Shiner.. I'm a Shiner fan.. so it is all right by me.

They sell most of their BMC in bottles now. Being Alvin, there are still plenty of people buying the crummy stuff.

But, the culture is changing, I've seen lots of people venturing out and trying different beers.

I believe they have flights available.

I've seen the following craft brands at Gordon Street Tavern.

Karbach, Saint Arnold, Southern Star, Live Oak, Deschutes, Wasatch, Clown Shoes, Prairie Artisan, Abita, Shiner (yes, I count those two), No Label, Sam Adams, Ballast Point, Six Point, Squatters and many more.

They are doing a better job at rotating taps out, though it still takes them some time
to get through some beers. They sometimes have one or two taps on three dollar pint blowout.

They have had Pint Nights for Karbach, Saint Arnold, No Label and Goose Island.

The food is really good in my opinion. A talented chef created the menu and it is regular bar food, but taken to a higher level.

I love the Junky Monkey chili cheese dog, the Smoked Cheddar Burger and the Buffalo Chicken sandwich... I also like the breaded hot wings... very good. Much better than Buffalo Wild Wings and Hooters in my opinion.

They have a full service bar and wines.

If you live in or around the Alvin/Friendswood/Pearland/SantaFe area, give this place a try. I'm really glad they opened up.

No smoking inside, but they did just build a large outside porch area which about doubled their total seating and gives smokers a place to sit while smoking.

As far as service, the waitstaff aren't beer experts and the service isn't always blazing fast. When possible I prefer to sit at the bar as you generally get very fast service there.
