Bright copper color, eggshell head doesn't last. Malty aroma, some toffee, flavor follows, some hoppiness. Nicely carbonated, a bit thin, certainly tasty.

Snowmaker pours a darker amber, with some sediment, and a small, but long lasting head. The aroma is spicy, with a hint of earth. The flavor is bold, spicey, decently bitter, and a bit of earth. Good feel. Overall, a nice spicey, bold pale ale.

12 oz can be date Jan 2024 into a Becher glass.
L: SRM 9 Pours 98% clear burnished dark copper caramel color with a 1" creamy rounded light khaki head that slowly recedes to thick edge foam, light fine steady carbonation, medium-thick complex lacing.
S: Caramelized malts, gently floral, lightly nutty, toffee, light molasses.
T: Floral & sweet lightly toasty caramelized malts, a suggestion of brown bread, light cereal grains, wheat, a distant note of jam grapes, background pine & citrus zest esp in the finish which is long and gentle.
F: Lightly brisk, smooth medium-bodied feel with a fairly short finish and a long linger that is gently drying.
O: An affably full-flavored and dynamic Pale Ale. First hops, then resilient caramel malts, then a swing to zest and pine. A 3-stage taste that is very delicious and is quenching. It is very good in its style. I would buy this again.

Cloudy amber with plenty of suspended sediment. Smells like lemon and pine with a big hit of amber malt at the end, very sweet. Basically like an IPA, the back describes it as a "robust pale ale", heavy instead of refreshing

Pours a clear yet dark amber with a thick beige head that gradually falls back and leaves great lacing. Aroma is mild, bready malt. Flavor follows the nose, malty with some bitterness in the finish. Feel is medium bodied. Overall, fairly unimpressive. Drinkable but was hoping for more from this brewery.

Can. Beige head with lace. Caramel amber color.

Malty pale ale. Bready and caramel. Floral and piney hops. Some resin. Some citrus. A nice change of pace. Reminds me of an English pale ale.

Amber, mostly clear, well carbonated. Short off-white head. The pour was down the side of the glass initially, transitioning quickly to a down the middle vigorous pour once I saw there was not going to be much head. The head fades quickly, leaving a short wall of lacing.

Aroma is pine backed by melon of moderate strength.

The initial flavor that hits is the pine, with mild bittering appearing right away. Along with the pine, the melon appears shortly. The middle and finish develops a bit of an earthy character. The aftertaste has the pine and bittering lingering. By the time I am ⅔ done, the bitterness really takes ahold. This is a quite bitter beer, especially in the lingering aftertaste. The hop flavors and bitterness dominate any contribution from the malts.

The body is thin, more like a session IPA than a well-balanced APA.

The Snow Maker Pale Ale is not what I was expecting from a beer marketed as a winter pale ale. It's darker, sure, which may imply cooler weather, but there is not nearly enough malt character. It may not be a bad session IPA, but it is too thin and too hops dominated to be a good APA, (doubly so for one marketed as a winter seasonal).

Appearance: Pours a slightly clouded (~20% opaque), dark, pale orange/bronzed color with a soft white head. SRM of 12. (4.00)

Aroma: Moderate to strong aromas of resinous orange, grapefruit, stonefruit, followed by a tropical fruit sweetness. (3.75)

Flavor: The flavor follows with more orange citrus, red grapefruit, and stonefruit. Somewhat earthy like the forest floor. Sweet nectarine and caramel on the backend. Mild to moderate pine, but leans sweet and fruity. (4.00)

Feel: Medium to heavier bodied. Moderate carbonation. Leans slightly sweet which lingers on the palate. (3.75)

Compared to Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale 5/17/21: Pours a similar color, but hazier. Stronger aromas and fruiter. More stonefruit, tropical melon, berry, and forest floor-like.

Overall: This pale ale is flavorful and showcases the Centennial and Simcoa hop varieties well. It has a strong orange citrus and stonefruit flavor but also being earthy like the forest floor. This must be the Centennial hop. It also has some tropical melon note which must be the Simcoe. It drinks not unlike the Founder's Centennial IPA in terms of flavor. (Final Rating: 3.92)

12oz can with illegible date.
Clear, lighter amber with a finger of dense head. Plenty of lacing left down the glass. Aroma that is a little piney, a little catty, and a little fruity. Complimented by a lightly toasted malt. Cleanly hopped flavor that is more Simcoe than Centennial so slightly more fruity and catty and less piney and citrus. Nice malt profile that offers more character than 90% of new hoppy beers I have tried in the last 18 months. Toasty and dry almost like it is Golden Promise malt, but I don't think it is as it lacks the prior's musty qualities. The body is probably the weakest part of this beer as it feels under carbonated and a little thin.

12oz can. Poured out a very clear, golden amber color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left some thin rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of roasted malt, caramel and pine notes. Sweet toffee and caramel taste with orange and piney bitterness.
