Poured from a 12 ounce can into a tulip glass.
Look- Medium gold, very hazy, no visible particulate, frothy white head, below average head retention, average lacing.
Smell- Mango, clementine, floral, sweet.
Taste- Mango, malt, weak/watery one dimensional flavor, mildly astringent.
Feel- Between thin and medium body, slightly below average carbonation, low bitterness, soft, mildly astringent.
Overall- This beer has a one dimensional mango flavor that is very understated. Astringency was also a factor that decreased drinkability.

12oz can poured into a stemless wine glass. Hazy orange-juice-like appearance, gold with minimal head. Lots of mango and citrus, tropical and juicy, with impressions of a sweet honey malt. The mango character is green instead of overripe, but it tastes very authentic and works well in a refreshing lower abv beer like this. Lighter bodied with some doughy grains and a slightly dry finish.

i have to confess i didnt know this had mango in it when i ordered it, and i didnt know it mango in it when i was drinking it. i knew it was a big juicy ipa, but i was prepared to credit the hops for all of the tropical fruitiness in here. its a nice beer, but i suppose its a compliment to the brewers and the hops that the mango wasnt that obvious to me, or else i have come to expect the amazing from bale breaker and it never occurred to me that this could be fruited, either way, it was lost on me at the time, maybe my palate was lousy after a long day of ale drinking. in any event, the beer is delicious, super fresh, and quite distinctive on the hop side, even now recognizing the mango contribution retrospectively. the beer is incredibly cloudy and dense to drink, but the flavors are so bright and fresh, its a real interesting contrast, orange and glowing but majorly hazy. the citra hops are evident, and the loral hops make it interesting, both liberally dosed and almost entirely after fermentation it seems. the mango must be largely worked down by the yeast too, as there isnt a lot of sweetness to this like the fruited ipa types often have, especially on the finish. its a little dense to drink on, but the flavors pop. i love the savory botanical character of the loral hops with the fruity citra and the resinous simcoe, and with the (apparently) subtle mango. only a touch green or bitter at the end. bale breaker always slays the hoppy stuff, and this is no exception. love what they do!

A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a hazy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of mango, little else. Taste is mild, light mango, malts, and bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is ok, but doesn't pack much of a punch for the style.

Clear golden brew with adequate foam in the Troubadour tulip. Very different aroma. Smells like straw and watermelon rind. Very light body. Maybe it's mango, after some sipping, but not a very friendly fruit flavor.
Right from the start it's quite dry, with a mineral taste. Club soda taste with citrus note. Bitter aftertaste with resiny gunk. Not very likable. From the 12 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station in Belingham.

12oz can poured into 10oz goblet. Poured a murky, dirty yellow color, with just a thin cap of white head that had no retention or lacing.
The aroma had a light grain scent, some mellow hops, and no Mango at all. Identcal on the tongue, very little beer flavor, no mango.
The body was medium, and had a semi dry finish. Drinkability was Meh-ish, just due to the lack of overall presence. Overall, make your own decision, but I wouldn't recommend this beer. I'm a fan of the brewery, and this is the first beer from them that has let me down.

12oz can packaged Jul1718. Served in a pint glass. Yellow mango colored golden, mostly clear, with big soda bubbles. Tropical aroma of freshly peeled mango. Doesn't smell too juicy or sweet, but it does have the unmistakable smell of having just cracked open a mango.
Flavor is much more conventional American single IPA than I'd expect. It's still a tropical hop beauty, and the flavor of mango is there, but it's not particularly juicy / NEIPAish, nor has alpha bitterness been compromised in order to make a fruit beer. And incidentally, right below "Mango India Pale Ale", the label does read "Fruit Beer". Also: 30 IBU (seems low to me, this is pretty dry).
I don't know if this really stands out as an exceptional brew but it's far more than a gimmick.
