Glowing, cloudy, light orange color. Douglas fir/grapefruit aroma. Quite pleasant pine, tinge of grapefruit taste. Aftertaste is nearly like a bit like tangerine peel essence.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a hazy, medium orange amber with a one finger white head with good retention and thick lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus hops, orange, tangerine, hints of tropical fruit, a little green onion and dankness. Flavor is pale malt, citrus hops, orange, tangerine, lemon, mild stone fruit; piney bitterness develops into the finish, which has a nice lingering, moderately resinous aftertaste. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation. I was hoping that Bale Breaker would endow their hazy IPA with some good alpha oil bitterness and they did not disappoint. The hop profile leans quite heavily into citrus territory, with only hints of tropical and other fruit that are typical of NE style hazies; this is definitely a West Coast hazy IPA. The citrus flavor is not that complex, but orange family flavors are always welcome in an IPA and are dominant here. A hazy IPA that keeps me interested.
