a collaboration with grand teton and hidden mother, its just okay for me, and really is the first hoppy beer ive had with bale breakers name on it that didnt wow me. its almost like they used noble hops in this instead of the fruit of their region, it was grassy and bitter and a little bit dull or muted to me, not at all what i was expecting, but when my palate got used to it, i liked it a bit more. clearish and light brassy in color, with a nice white head from the tap and an almost spicy aroma, i wish i knew which hops they used in this, it really is odd, kind of old school, still bitter, but like, neither fruity nor herbaceous nor piney, nothing, its like dried grass clippings, and there isnt a lot of flavor from the grain either, maybe its getting old now? a sort of dry cereal base, could be some wheat here, but nothing real exciting there either. a soft peppery note through it, maybe a light breadiness to the yeast, and some finishing bitterness. i dont dislike the beer at all, i am just kind of confused by it, i thought this might be a bit more robust and kind of modern. others in our group liked it less than me, but its still my least favorite hoppy one i have had from bale breaker.
