This innovative take on the hazy IPA style features Citra®, Sabro™ and Mosaic® hops grown by BT Loftus Ranches. With an approachable bitterness and a crisp body, this hazy IPA was thoughtfully crafted for everyday drinking.

After refining our hazy game for a year with over 30 recipes in our Imagination Station, we finally settled on this hazy IPA recipe as the newest addition to our year-round lineup. It’s a nod to the ripe East Coast hazies with our own fun West Coast spin – which is why we decided to name it Hazy L, another nod to some of the greats that came before us: our great-grandparents’ B.T. and Leota Mae Loftus’ cattle brand ‘Lazy L.’

Can't pass up trying something from Bale Breaker.

This pours slightly hazy with pineapple whip character that dominates the sip. Smooth and pillowy on the finish.

Had at Mahoney's Taphouse in Vancouver, Pours a nice golden color with a medium head and medium to low bitterness from the hops. It has a nice citrus taste with a medium mouthfeel. Aroma is citrusy and stone fruit. 40 IBUs Rated 1-8-2022

On tap at Tacos Locos in SeaTac airport, into a pint glass

Cloudy, yellow-tan appearance, sudsy head with tons of lacing.

Nose is sharp and floral, big wafts of tropical nuances…pineapple, mango.

Definitely a hybrid WC-NE style hazy as juicy tropical notes are tamped down by the crisp, grassy aspects of a west coast style pale. Picking up a strawberry-raspberry thing towards the finish, which is short and crisp for the style.

I’m assuming the relatively mediocre reviews here are largely due the NE style bias on this site, which is one of the reasons most people out here on the Left Coast gave up on this site a long time ago.

Quite uniformly foggy but not fully hazy maize with a thin off-white head.

Really light in feel, yet softly fluffy, flavor has shades of pineapple with a little orange and a shortbread biscuit backing before finishing tingly and barely semi-dry. A little green dankness crops up here or there.

The last time I had Bale Breaker was at their hop farm. They were all clear West Coasters, so it's interesting to see a hazy from them. It's definitely not worth the captive audience fee of $17 at the airport, but isn't bad.

Purchased 4 months after canning/bottling date. Bought at Total Wine as a single.

Very good hazy beer. Moderate ABV, no extreme fruit taste. The mouthfeel is light and not overwhelmingly hazy. Overall this is definitely a great go-to hazy IPA that isn't overly sweetened or flavored. No complaints at all.

thanks to my brother-in-law, Chris, for picking up a mixed pack to try - I shared this one with my sister-in-law, Lilli, because apparently Chris doesn’t allow “expensive IPAs” in the house for her to drink. I guess I’ll be going to Total Wine for a haul of IPAs tomorrow!
L: hazy golden-yellow body with a frothy off-white head
S: juicy tropical fruit, lemony citrus, pineapple
T: lemon drop, passion fruit, grapefruit, pineapple, Granny Smith apple, wheaty malt
F: lighter side of medium for body, moderate carbonation, tart finish with minimal bitterness
O: not a true NEIPA, but a very good properly labeled “Hazy IPA“

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a tulip glass.

Look- Straw, very hazy, small visible particulate, frothy white head, above average head retention and lacing.

Smell- Grapefruit, coconut, pineapple, lemon.

Taste- Grapefruit, coconut, pineapple, lemon.

Feel- Between thin and medium body, moderately prickly, average carbonation, between low and moderate bitterness, crisp finish.

Overall- This was about 90% NEIPA and 10% West Coast IPA. It was a pleasant drinking experience with almost no astringency and a crisp finish.

Large bubbly head, non opaque, strong tannins, piney taste with malty backend, palate is slightly weak and doesn't last long. I can't smell so this review may not be relevant to others.

Picked up as part of a mixed 12 pack while in Birch Bay, WA on 6.5.21 at The Market for $21.99. Canned on 02.26.21; consumed on 6.10.21. Also had a pint at McKay's tap house in Bellingham today for $6.50

Beer poured a hazy gold with a nice white head.

Nose is dank and citrus.

Taste is a light malt base with a nice orange and mango hop addition. Finishes with a light balancing hop and a tad sweet; 4/10 on my scale.

Mouthfeel is light and refreshing.

Overall an easy drinker that could stand for a little more hopping.

12oz canned in January, poured into a Sam Adams PP. Light-to-medium haze in a golden straw body with a creamy white head and good lacing. Tropical fruit and stone fruit throughout; melon and apricot, mango and papaya, green apples and grapes, with a yeasty fruitiness and a light pale malt character. Floral. Solid body, lighter and crisp and clean with a subdued bitterness. Tasty and very drinkable.

A-sungold, moderate head on moderate pour
S-floral, a bit of citrus, and more pine than usual for the hazy style
T-lemon and pine and floral, a bit of change-up from usual juicy haze. Above bitter, below sweet
M-Medium/Full, above carbonation, sticky and chewy
O-pretty solid but there's plenty better out there so probably one-&-done for me.
