Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a two finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus, lightly piney and dank hops, orange and grapefruit. Flavor is pale, lightly caramel malt, citrus and dank hops, orange, grapefruit, berries and melon with a little dankness. Finishes semi-dry with citrus rind and a touch of piney hops. Medium bodied with light creaminess. The malt and herbal hop flavors in this remind me of a fresh hopped ale, which is always a good thing. A bit less caramel and pine than most traditional West Coast style IPAs, but with plenty of interesting fruit notes to make up for it. Has a lot of the newer hop fruit flavors like melon and berries as well as the expected citrus. Nicely done and refreshing. Love to find anything new from Bale Breaker.
