A really nice offering from Bale Breaker in their Friends series; pours from the 16oz can with opaque orange haze and a fluffy off-white head. Lots and lots of melon character, honeydew and cantaloupe, apricot and stone fruit as well, some lemongrass and hints of other tropical fruits. Nice flavor combinations punctuated with a smooth body and minimal bitterness.

Canned Nov 2nd. Light amber pour, light head. Nose is stone-fruit with maybe piney contributions. Taste is pretty much a down-the-center-of-the-alley IPA , but just short of picking up a strike.
Carbonation is good, finish is clean.

this frenz series has been great, and this is another delicious one, in collaboration with a bunch of yakima breweries, simple and flavorful ipa, mostly dry hopped, citra and some experimental varietals, it definitely drinks modern and has a personality all of its own, really dug this! not blonde, not orange, somewhere in between, and more unfiltered than super hazy looking, high white headed from the tap, and it smells fresh as it gets. i get the citra right away, slightly oily lemon zest and lemon curd, then some crazy tropical and even berry fruitiness, strawberries and cream, tangerine, mango, its awesome, herbal, pungent, and not forced at all. the grain isnt all that light, but it doesnt really have all that much personality either, and the ferment is clean, nothing from the yeast in aroma or flavor hardly at all to me. the hop flavor is as good as the nose, big fruity layers to this, some unexpected ones even, mandarin orange, ripe cantaloupe, orange candy, dried mango and apricot, and lemongrass, super flavorful, and nicely supported but not at all obscured by the malt, which feels a little bigger than it tastes in here, a honey note but then dry at the end, a toasted thing but not rich really, nice build. good complexity but also simplicity, cool ingredients showcased well, these hops rule, and the execution is really professional overall. cool collaboration and the exact kind of thing i would expect bale breaker to do super well, and they have. get some while its around!

16oz can from Hops & Bottles. Hazy yellow orange pour, thin, frothy white head. Citrusy, dank aroma. Taste is fruity and juicy, light dank notes. Full, smooth, creamy. Lovely.
