Look: Pours a clear golden with a silky white head that settles to a lid and leaves good lacing behind

Aroma: Blueberries, tangelos, strawberry, pine, some Cannabis, mandarins, light melon, and sweet bready malt

Taste: Kicks off with a nice resinous blast of pine sap and crushed needles that is quickly followed by waves of citrus fruit. Grapefruit, tangerine, mandarin, and orange all in tow and the berries begin to trickle in as well and they all play nice as light wafts of dank move in and out of frame. Closes with the return of pine and a nice bite

Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, clean, medium-high carbonation, and lightly dry on the finish

Overall: This is some good stuff. My second iteration of one of these Frenz IPA collab series and this one, like the other I tried, is a solid and tasty WCIPA. Plenty of pine, berries, and citrus throughout and a great feel overall. I’m glad to have tried it and definitely worth checking out

From the can, this beer pours a solid gold color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose I'm picking up considerable tropical fruit, tangerine, lime, light dankness and pine. This really smells good. Alas, the flavor profile doesn't quite measure up to nose, but it's still pretty good. The flavor profile replicates the nose for the most part, though it's not as intense as the nose. This WCIPA is actually fairly light on its feet, with decent bitterness on the finish. Mouthfeel is fairly light, though there's a decent amount of flavor. Alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile, and drinkability is pretty good in this beer.

One of the better Frenz versions I've sampled. Not all of them have been all that great IMHO, but this is a good one. Would buy again.

On-tap in downtown Boise; clear straw-gold body with a soapy, wispy white head. Modern WC nose, generically fruity but also somewhat piney, earthy, floral and dank. The palate punches you initially with hops but fades away quickly…there is generic tropical fruit as well as dankness and pine, but the bitterness is start-to-finish and the thin, watery body doesn’t really support it. Not as impressed overall as I wanted to be; still not a bad choice for a summer brew.

Canned 5/29/24.Faintly hazy pour, a finger of frothy foam; some floaters. Nose is pine with a definite citrus overlay, some dankness and earthy background Taste is prominent citrus with a definite dose of dankness carried over from the aroma. Bitterness follows a long finish with plenty of hop flavors. All around, a good quality WCIPA, which Bale Breaker seems to pull off without breaking a sweat, so to speak.

Recommended... as this is a one- off, start looking.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a fine, two finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, piney, citrus and lightly dank hops, grapefruit, mixed tropical and light stone fruit and a touch of pine and catty dankness. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and mixed fruit hops, light stone fruit, berries and pine developing into a dense grapefruit and piney finish. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess, nice mouth feel. An interesting hop bill here with mostly grapefruit in the citrus realm, but other mystery fruit leaning to stone stone fruit. Some dankness and pine developing into a solid finish with great bitterness. The hop flavors are complex, but somewhat flat with a low level of herbal hop notes, but still interesting. I'm guessing that's maybe the Dynaboost affect? Hoppy and bitter, just the way I like 'em.
