a nice new one from these guys, modern as can be without too much density, and featuring a couple of experimental experimental varietals, including hbc 630 which i think has a future. this is pale orange colored, frosted looking but not messy, with an average white head from the vibrant pink and gold can, striking package. it smells like sliced nectarines, orange starburst, and infused oil of some kind, like herbal and kind of intense, almost aromatherapeutic to me, lemongrass and cantaloupe juiciness, somewhat sweet, nothing out of the ordinary to me on the grain side, and pretty clean on the ferment it seems, recognizable as a hazy of course, but pretty unique on the hops side, with some up front hop product type intensity and some later weediness, nice. the flavor is fruity too, peach and apricot up front with obvious citrus and cannabis in the middle, a little close to the line on mid palate intensity i reckon, but it never pushes into the harsh range, but feels darn near maxed out. i love the melon character, the high tone almost estery character that is obviously hop derived not from yeast, and i dont mind this having a little pop of finishing bitterness to bring it back into ipa land fruit fruit smoothie world, nice flow here, very dynamic indeed. palate coating with some oiliness but not heavy to drink, pillowy feeling, a little disproportionate as it warms, but the hop range in here is exciting and overall this is real good. i think a little more carbonation would be flattering, but its hard to be critical of this. i always complain when these are samey, and this one isnt.
