Pours from the growler a hazy gold with a bubbly white head. Huge aroma of pine, spruce and grapefruit. The nose is an exact replica of the taste. Lots of bitter hops linger. Medium mouth. Hard to believe they extracted this much flavor into a beer with 4 abv (3.2 abw in Oklahoma's low point parlance). This is seriously good.

Appearance- Hazy golden yellow with a slight amber hue.

Aroma- Big aroma on this pungent mango and citrus.

Taste- As the nose lets on this is big on the hops with a bitter punch up front with citrus/mango/grapefruit flavors. Towards the end this dries out on the tongue. Very light bread malt towards the end as well, providing some balance, but this is hop forward as can be. More of light/session ipa than a pale ale.

Mouthfeel- The medium bodied feel at first and gets lighter towards the finish. A dry/bitterness lingers towards the end, which is really the (very minor) downside to this beer.

Overall- First growler offering from Roughtail and its really good. Huge flavor in this with big citrus/grapefruit hop flavors and a subtle pale malt to add some balance. At 4% its got incredible drinkability but has enough body to even be confused with 5-6% abv beers. Definitely leans more towards being an Ipa rather than a pale ale as the hops outweigh the malt. Can't wait to see what else Roughtail puts out for growlers, and hopefully this makes many more appearances as well.
