From notes 4/16/15
On tap at Oak and Ore.
Chestnut in color with a tan froth. Smells of malt, herb and resin. Taste is malt forward with caramel, toffee and light fruits in the middle. Has an herbal finish and slightly gritty.
Not a hop bomb lovers DIPA but a tasty one nonetheless.

At $5.25 a pint, this will probably be my one & only
Pours a chill-hazed, rocky, amber/brown with 2+ finger of tan head. Very good lacing & slightly above average lacing, never rea;;y drops bright
S: Cakey, boozey, a little caramel
T: Follows the nose, much woody & herbal hops, a lot of dryness as well up front. Brown sugar, dryness & booze as this warms, some pineyness as well. Finishes dry, bready, a little boozey, plus herbal bitterness
MF: Fairly chewy, subdued carbonation, pretty good balance. Carbonation picks up a little once warm
Drinks pretty easy, but nothing to go out your wayto try, fairly typical for the style maybe a few notches above, but was expecting more. Would try this on tap if I found it

Pours from the can a dark amber with a finger of off-white head. It reduces quickly leaving very little lacing. The aroma is lightly of melon, citrus and some caramel. The taste is of cantaloupe, grapefruit, and caramel sweetness. There's a touch of spruce bitterness that adds nice complexity. Medium heavy mouth that's sticky. Roughtail consistently brews solid beers, but they'be taken another step with this one. Happy Birthday, Roughtail.
