On tap at the Lokal - Yukon OK.
Look: Light golden/amber with light density ½” head that dissipates to nearly nothing in about 10 minutes. I think the look is appropriate for this style.
Smell: Very clean; just a light hint of citrus filtered through linen. Nice but not exactly interesting.
Taste: Clean, citrus sweet. Orange leads the way followed by notes of honey and vanilla. It’s refreshing, not strong, and would make a good session Ale any day. There’s just a bit of hoppy edge on the side of the tongue on the finish. Very light malt base. Good balance but certainly not remarkable.
Feel: Sort of on the fizzy side - not especially smooth but also not objectionable. This beer has an intrinsically light body that lends to a less integrated feel. It’s fine but not great.
Overall: I bought two rounds tonight and for good reason: how this pairs with food. The clean taste, sizzly character in the mouth and decently low alcohol level makes it a great food buddy. It tastes great, and washes clean. Nice feel and not hard on the wallet. Overall I give Apricot/Orange a thumbs up and think it rates a “try it” at the very least.
