Pours a bright & effervescent gold with 2+ fingers of fluffy pearl colored head. Very good lacing & above average head retention, stays effervescent throughout
S: Cereal, white grapes, smells more like fruit juice than beer
T: Pears, a little lemon, some crackery notes up front, sweet grainyness & dryness up front. Some grassy bitterness once warm, but overpowered by the sweetness. Finishes a little dry, way too sweet with faint grassyness
MF: Light/medium body, under carbonated for the style.
This misses the mark style-wise; hops aren't present & just too sweet. Easily the worst beer I've ever had from these guys, more like watered down apple juice with some grass blades thrown in

CAN:
Unbecoming cereal grain sweetness dominates this off-the-mark attempt at a Kolsch.

Appearance: Pours a clear, golden-yellow body with a finger-high cap of white froth. A bit effervescent, like a soda pop.
Smell: Slim sense of cereal maltiness, a subtle albeit persistent winy quality and faint touch of yellow apples.
Taste: Somewhat sweet cereal malts kick things off. As with the aroma, there's a decided winy quality and noted taste of sweet apples. Very minimal hop character and near nil bitterness felt, though, with as sweet as Kölschwerk starts, it certainly could use some balancing bitterness. Finishes sweet and amply carbonated, like a soda pop.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-high carbonation, again, like a soda pop.
Overall: I'd rather have the soda pop.
