All around very below average. Unbalanced, malt-forward offering from Roughtail.

On tap at garage burgers. First thing noticeable about this beer is the murky brown color it has. Unlike any beer ive seen as it looks like dirty water. From a quick smell burnt malts are most present. Taste has the expected burnt malt with some sweetness. A little bit of citrus hop balances the strong malt body. Mouthfeel is smooth and fullbodied with small amount of carbonation. Overall, this is a very good red ale bordering on great. Very drinkable, goes great with a burger, and definitely worth trying. (85/100)
edit: Retried this with some noticeable differences. First, it was much more clear with a reddish slight brown hue. Second, hop profile and bite was much more noticeable this time. Possibly a fresher keg? Also, the burnt malt aspect was much more subdued. Overall, still a really good beer and even with new differences I'm not persuaded to change the score.

A: 1 finger tan head that leaves lacing everywhere. Hazed amber body.
S: Citric hops over some caramel & toasty malts.
T: Spicy & citric hops with a decent amount of caramel malt.
M: Medium- body. Fine, lively carbonation. Light hop oil coating at the finish.
O: Hop forward, but still in balance. Falls quickly.
