22oz bottle with my FW snifter glass
Last noted on 11/27/15

I love me a good Oatmeal Raisin any time of day but there are good ones and then there are, well, this one. A tremendous let down…like falling hard for a good lookin’ tranny.

Looks fine enough with a dark amber brownish body and some mild hazy distortion to the body. Rocky tan foam laps over the top and finally settles back down into the glass leaving a few dotted islands of lace left behind.
The aroma brings a sharp sort of synthetic cinnamon note that just seems or odd and chemical like to me. I get the sweetness of golden raisins coming through as well. The taste is overrun by the chalky acerbic cinnamon as well. There is a mild underlay of sweetened raisin and toasted brown malts with a touch of honey and marzipan to it. Dry in the finish with some spritz of carbonation and some earthy bitterness.

This just seems forced out into production without any care to take the time to develop and finesse required in making this something exceptional. That in itself makes it a bit gimmicky and of course I bought.

Best to stay clear of this one – not as advertised.

Awful garbage. Taste like a Bud Light with a shot of Aftershock liquor poured in it. Terrible, over cinnamony trash. Try Lost Abbey Track 8 and then try this and then want to punch the brewers in the face with me. This is not an oatmeal cookie, this is 17 year old girl candy ass filth.

Nice attempt, but falls short of any real flavors. Smells better than it taste. The name catches your attention, and urges you to try it. This could be a good beer, if taken the time to perfect their recipe.

Split with JLindros. Received as an extra in a trade.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a clearish brown hue with a good one finger head that fades to leave a thin blanket.

S - Aromas of a rather spiced winter warmer, light oats, vegetal, very little raisins. Very faint cookie.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, oats, raisins, very phenolic. More winter warmer spices. Really sharp, vegative.

M - Mouthfeel is brightly carbonated, distractingly so.

O - Overall this was a very underwhelming beer, really messy with very little oatmeal raisin cookie notes. Meh

Thanks to rudzud
Big foamy 2 finger head fades at a fair pace, mild spotty lacing, hazy murky reddish maroon color, lots of yeast chunks sinking to the bottom.

Nose smells like fermented gourd like a bad pumpkin beer, cinnamon and other spices, maybe a touch of toasted oats and cookie dough, vegetal bbq sauce thing, winter warmer spices, little raisin in the background, then big candi sugar and phenols with booze warmth.

Taste brings sweet candy thing, candi sugar, lots of radiation and cinnamon cookie spices, winter warmer spices, baking spices, little oatmeal cookie dough, mild phenols and booze warmth, spicy with a little anise, gingerbread cookie too, some raisin like cinnamon covered candied raisin thing, caramel malt. Sweetness dries a bit on the finish, still sticky, plenty more winter warmer and baking spices, cinnamon ginger allspice clove thing, little oatmeal cookie dough.

Mouth is med bod, way over carbonated distracting carb, and somehow booze warmth.

Overall eh, some interesting characters but fairly poorly done.

Sugary sweet but I guess that's supposed to be a plus. Along with the big vanilla flavor and whatever it is that makes cookie dough taste the way it does. Raisiny notes. Caramel and burnt sugar. More like ginger than oatmeal, but it does taste exactly like a cookie dipped in cheap rum.

This is hardly a Blonde Ale. It's a spiced-up brown ale or some kind of Winter Warmer. Crazy aromatics, like hot Christmas air freshener.

Smells heavily of raisins with cinnamon, pipe tobacco and vanilla. The taste follows with cinnamon spice up front. Caramel malt, raisins, vanilla and brown sugar are followed by a toasted oat finish. Sweet but, not cloying. Novelty beer? Maybe. Tasty? Definitely! Waiting for the bourbon barrel aged version.
