Quick Take: With a light-opaque amber straw color, the taste is VERY smoky with light malt and smoke char aroma. A great experience overall! Another good smokey beer is the Reentry Smoked Ale from Intergalactic Brewing Company in San Diego.

Handsome brownish amber color with lots of lacing in the Bacchus tumbler. Spritzy on the tongue. Quite lemony sharp after some sipping. Malty.
This is the fruitiest smoked beer I've ever had. It's full of that tart and sweet taste. This is not the usual campfire smoke. A little bitter aftertaste. I have to admit this is pretty tasty, at least for a short glass. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Stump's Market in Point Loma.

On tap at Aftershock Brewing Company in Temecula, CA.
Pours a hazy orange with a foamy orange-tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of smoked malt, campfire, and roasted chile aromas. Taste is much the same with band-aid and smoke flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of smoke bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but the mouthfeel leaves something to be desired.
