This big IPA comes out swinging with a bold hop hammer ready to take on your taste buds. This heavy hitting beer is big on tropical melon and tangy citrus that is smooth and maybe too easy to drink. What you wont find here is the typical super malty, sticky, crazy bitter IPA. Its all about big hop flavor that keeps you wanting more.
HOPS: Citra, Centennial, Palisade, Simcoe, Summit

So interestingly enough I never intended to try this beer, but it was loud and when I asked to "tab out" it was interpreted as "10lb hammer" now I can see how they sound the same in a loud crowded bar. So this mystery pint shows up before me and who am I to say no? I spent the entire time trying to figure out what it was; too embarrassed to ask. It was only after I received the ticket and saw that it was the 10lb hammer did I realize. I can't find any info on their website about the beer, but this is definitely not a double/imperial IPA. There isn't a lot of hops at all and it masks the alcohol very well. I would call this more of an American Strong Ale. Though I can't remember a whole lot about it as my agenda was not in rating beers but more about getting a nice buzz.

Served On-Tap
A – Pours a pale faint yellow, slightly cloudy, little to no head, minimal lacing left behind.
S – Light tropical fruit notes, mango particularly, as well as a melon and honeydew note.
T – Fairly muted, some detectable tropical and mango notes, but wish there was more.
M – Medium bodied, carbonation seems to be a bit low.
O – Nice approach, could use a little less sweetness and more of a balanced hop profile.
