An Vienna style lager fermented with 30 lbs of fresh, locally grown, organic cucumbers. This experimental lager will blow your taste buds away with its subtle, yet obvious cucumber flavor. Nicely balanced with a rich malt profile that evokes flavors of honey and toasted bread. While rich in malt this beer has an elegant cucumber touch on the finish.

Served on draft in a 16oz Becher Pint

A — Pours a clear and translucent yellow hue into the glass, there is a thin white head that resides atop the beer, and disappears quite quickly, leaving behind just a bit a of lacing with each sip.

S — Smell is light and slightly sweet, notes of pilsner malt, lager yeast, and a light vegetal and cucumber note, smells like cucumber water crossed with a light lager.

T — Taste is nice and light with notes of cucumber, lager yeast, pilsner malt. The pieces are all there and the sum total is greater than the parts involved.

M — Light in body, crisp and clean, super refreshing.

O — Really nice overall, a great balance of flavors and not overdone.

I had this beer on-tap in a narrow pint glass at the brewery.

Appearance: medium gold hue with a thin layer of ivory foam and a light haze. Not bad.

Smell: lightly toasty with just a hint of cucumber. A taste of things to come!

Taste: the toasty lager is just a light base; the real story is the cucumber. It shines through bright and fresh and it really is a treat.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: a highly drinkable beer, if a little weird. I like it a lot.
