Served in 14oz goblet. Poured a hazy, almost opaque gold color, with an inch of white head that dissipated quickly, and left no lacing.
The aroma was a bit honey-sweet at first, with a zingy yeast spice. The grain was very subdued. A nice combination of spices and herbs was also apparent. Very similar on the tongue. A yeast flavor that reminded me of some Saison and Tripels, some florals, and what seemed to be very soft hops.
The body was light-medium, and had a finish that was both semi-sweet, and dry & tart. Drinkability was good, I had 3 over a couple of days. Overall, a pretty nice brew. Not sure how historically accurate it is, but I liked it a lot. Worth trying if you see it.
