Brewed in similar fashion to the Northern German style pilsner, we named this beer Coastal Pils as a nod to Germany’s coastal region where notable examples exist. This Pilsner is fully attenuated, hoppy with a refreshing mineral finish and notes of cracker, biscuit, and lemony bitterness.

12oz can at share. Clear golden pour with a small white foamy head. Aroma is cereal grains, grassy. Taste is malty, grainy with a light crisp bite at the finish.

my least favorite of the number of beers i have been able to try from these folks in the last little while, i love what they do, but this seems a few tweaks away from being dialed in, at least in our experience at the seattle taproom. its clear and very light looking, a short white head adorning it, and lots of bubbles, looks minimal but well refined. the nose is where it goes off a little for me, onion and vegetal matter, a soapy vibe, and an estery thing that seems weird for a lager. at first i thought maybe floral hops or even a mexican lager yeast in play, but as it warms i realize this is just not quite right, almost a detergent thing to it, a shame because the european type pils malt sets a nice light and clean crackery base for it, and the bitterness it ends with is also pleasant. im not sure if what i am picking up is a product of a dirty glass or line, something strange in the hops, or a flaw in fermentation, but its otherwise dry, mineral forward, and balanced well. i want this crisper and more tidy, i want the soapy thing gone, because i like how delicate it is and what its trying to be, its just not quite dialed in, not quite at the level i have come to expect from aslan. even with this mediocre brew, the rest of the stuff we had at the seattle spot was awesome, the service was great, and the space was rad, cant complain.

Lighter golden in body, one and half finger white head. Tastes like.. Miller. Light, watery, mildly perfumy malt with minimal hops behind it. Thin, appropriate carbonation. Not a whole lot going on, certainly not offensive if you're looking for a refreshing drink on a hot day.

12oz can (Date was blurred, so unreadable) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a bright, clean, clear light gold color with a half-inch of white head that dissipated quickly and left just hints of lacing.
The aroma was light grain and grassy, floral hops.
Same on the tongue, fairly typical.
The body was light, smooth, crisp, and clean, with a dry-ish finish.
Drinkability was good, an easy quaff.
Overall, a solid brew, worth a shot if you see it.

Exploring new beers on a quarantine kick, checked this one out of my local-local and found it delicious. Nothing to offend one's sensibilities at all, a crisp pilsner, keeps up well with the true Central European stuff. Can much recommend.
