The current version of Evil is certainly not hazy in style or appearance, and it tastes both dank and juicy. Pineapple aroma with a hint of old socks. Sturdy malty body with some sweetness along with the hop overdose. Quite rich and orange tasting with a sharp finish. Mango in the mix. So it does have some hints of the NEIPA but finishes relatively clean. Highly flavorful. Moderately bitter with just a little astringent murk but quite drinkable. From the 12 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 06/12/24.

cool to see more and more draft from these guys around boise, ive long loved their beer. this is solid, but it came across a little generic to me, just a beer, a hoppy one and a good one, but less distinctive than i have come to expect from aslan over the years now. some color to this but not old school malty looking, brassy and bright even though it might be unfiltered, great head on it, lasting and airy. it smells familiar, nothing exotic on the hops side, fruit forward but short of that cloying juicy range thats so in right now, some grassiness too, tangerine, clementine, cantaloupe, cotton candy grapes, some distinctive malt character here too, bready and fuller, warming and hearty, not sweet but with a nice presence, bitterness is middle of the road, freshness is excellent, and all of that is there in the flavor of this, up front fruitiness, stone fruit more than citrus to me now, slightly husky on the grain side, even european, very pleasant, slightly fuller, with earlier onset bitterness than i could smell but it never ramps up that high. very balanced, almost pale ale to me, sturdy yeah, but with that kind of balance and restraint. freshness pops and thats huge. this is technically very good, but it also is lost in the crowd a little bit, where aslan beers usually really stand out to me. liked it a lot though, especially with conversation with a friend i rarely see. not sure i would fully call this a new england style, despite how its listed here on BA...

Creamy Mandarin orange juice appearance. Toasted malt and tangerine peel aroma. Slightly bitey tangerine peel flavor, with a medium light body and a thin head.
