12 oz. can from Trader Joe's in Tustin. Very dark brown, clear body with a small foamy off-white head. Aromas of toasted wood and cocoa. Aroma follows into the taste with some unsweetened dark chocolate. There's a good bitterness I think mostly from the charred malt and a light sweetness to balance. The body is thin but this works well with the taste and style. Lasting charred husky flavor and bitterness on the tongue, and cocoa in the flavor. Very good Schwarzbier.

Served in .5L Willi Becher. Poured a lightly transparent black color with over an inch of khaki head that had good retention and light lacing.
The aroma was soft malts, floral hops, and a slight touch of roast. Similar on the tongue, with all the aspects, especially the roast, being a bit bolder.
The body was on the light side of medium, smooth, and had a semi-dry finish. Drinkability was good, a very pleasant quaff. Overall a pretty nice brew, worth trying if you see it.
