dope label art on this bottle, packaged a little over a year ago, and maybe the weirdest beer we had on blueberry night, truly a bizarre one, sexy pinkish red color, ruby jewel toned and pretty clear through much of the bottle, but it gushes when we open it disturbing some of the sediment, looks like the bottle could barely contain this beer! it smells real weird, straight iodine and medical waste, oddly smoky too, sharp and tannic from the fruit, massively bretty, weird and maybe infected in an unintentional way beyond the wild yeasts in here, most in our group are turned off, i, ever the intrepid, am not. the taste is kind of cool, weird as it is, definite smoke here, and since no mention is made of that on the label, i have to assume this is some weird flaw, but it actually kind of works with the fruit, which is natural and sharp and very dry despite being a little bit concentrated. lots of wood and wine notes, plum, blackberry, campfire. once i get past the bleach and bandaid elements, i settle in and kind of like it, but this is not for everyone and likely a little gone bad. massively effervescent which i love in this style, and still with some saison yeast esters. polarizing, way out in left field, not as compelling as the peach one, not even close, but still fun and different. really digging aslan of late, even when they a little bit miss like this. im always saying i want weird ferments, well, here it is!
