12oz can from Brewers Haven. Now called "Single Hop Series: Sabro". Murky straw color, skin of head, looks like pear nectar. Thick pour. Aroma is ripe fruit, grapefruit peel. Taste is citrusy, grapefruit, light stone fruit, juicy. Dry bitterness at the finish.

Quite cloudy in the tall goblet with modest foam. Interesting peach and apricot aroma. The flavor is not too bad, with green apricot. Quite bitter and astringent after a few sips. It's the aftertaste that gets me-- gunky and sharp, like something stuck in the back of my throat. From the 12 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station.

part of the single hop series, so glad to have found it on tap, as i was definitely going to miss this one at almost 20 bones a six pack of normal size cans, like, what the heck?! organic sure, but no proprietary hops, no time intensive processes, no wild yeast, no barrels, normal abv, the price is ludicrous and i have to imagine six packs going old on shelves all over the northwest, i love these guys, but come on! the pour is pretty gross looking, thinking they just hooked up the keg where i had this, one of those trub heavy settled out bottom pours, milky and thick, but maybe thats just how this is, not much head either, too dense to see bubbles, looks real unappealing, and the texture matches, too thick to drink, couldnt do a full pour, which is such a problem, not because of the price so much as because of how great an expression of sabro hops it is, maybe the best and most vivid i have known since this hop exploded on the scene a few years back, why cant they give us this in a beer normal people actually want to drink? huge coconut flesh notes to the hops on this, waxy raw honeycomb too, lemongrass, verbena, white tea, white grape, and even new oak notes, incredible hop complexion both in aroma and flavor, absolutely magical, but the beer is dense, green, bitey, filling, and totally raw, not judging too harsh overall in case i just caught a weird pour, but it was at once amazingly good and undrinkably bad, one of the few beers ive ever had that did both. would love to revisit this in package form to compare, but at that price i doubt i will, not even sure i really can afford to, a shame. i will remember this one, thats for sure. not for me in this instance, but sabro freaks would do well to score some just for the experience...

Fresh 12oz can, a single-hop showcase for a fairly controversial hop, love-it-or-hate-it. We'll see. Thick, bright golden haze on the pour. Huge pop of fresh Sabro on the nose, with big Tropical and woody vibes...pine, mint, cedar, coconut...more coconut on the palate with a flash of pineapple to go along with a big earthy and tropical grassy vibe. Medium-to-full mouthfeel with a present spearmint dryness...I love it. Sabro can be polarizing but every once in a while there is nothing like it.
