Poured from a 33 cl bottle bought in Madrid.
A - Color is medium brown with strong red highlights. Just slightly cloudy, although it is bottle-conditioned and pouring the last few centimeters of beer/sediment from the bottle greatly increased the cloudiness. The head is fluffy, off-white and very persistent. This does not look like a pale ale, but it is a good-looking beer.
S - Aroma is very nutty and a little sweet; it is mostly pecan-like malt aroma and some brown sugar notes. There is a bit of roast in the background. No obvious hops or any hint that it is a pale ale style, either American or English.
T - Immediate hit of strong, acrid roastiness. There is a bit of the pecan nuttiness from the aroma, but the sharp roasted flavor dominates. No hops.
M - Medium body. Carbonation is very prickly and harsh. No alcohol presence.
O - This is a disappointing beer. A pale ale should have a clean character and some kind of hops presence. This is a harsh, astringent, roasted beer that doesn't approximate any style I'm familiar with.
