Pleasant tangy brew with an intense piney and citrusy hop flavor. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Baron's Market on West Point Loma. Clear amber with a tall pile of coarse foam in the Crooked Line tulip. Aroma of fruity hops.
Hot and woody. Warm and malty, but hot with alcohol. Melon and white wine and just a little spoiled fruit. Sharp and on the acidic side. Long grapefruit peel burn but not terribly bitter. Quite sippable but not as interesting as some other DIPAs, somehow. But the mouthfeel is quite sudsy and entertaining and it stays frothy for a long time.

Thanks to mmikey8 for this 22 oz. brown bottle bass. Minimal screen printing, no bottling date visible, minus .03 points already. Date your IPAs people!
The pour is on the lighter end of the hop spectrum, orange mixed with a heavy hand of yellow, plenty carbonated. The nose is full of Creamsicle with a sliver of citrus. Pretty tame.
Saint Archer IIPA saves it all for the taste. The weak nose leads to a shockingly aggressive taste: walker-machete sharp bitterness, full citrus, pine, Cuties, with an undertow of general tropical warmth. Alcohol seeps into the mouthskin mid-palate & warms the belly; drinks bigger than it is. End game is more bitterness - my mouth is getting pleasantly raw - faint earthy esters (I don’t care if that’s not a thing), & lemon zest. Now the mouf-feel is akin to a Creamsicle. Going down faster than me facing a Chapman fastball.
After the nose, the hard-charging taste was shock akin to watching George Bush get re-elected. This is an excellent IIPA, & a brewery I’ll be looking for the next time work finds me in San Diego.

Pours a very cloudy, bright golden yellow color with bright straw colored edges and a two finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Excellent retention, taking a while to settle with streaks of soapy lacing coating the glass on the way down.
Floral, slightly earthy aroma with some grassy pine and resinous buds along with a touch of citrus and a pale malt backbone. Could use some more fruit sweetness adding to the subtle grapefruit and pineapple character. Some bread, biscuit and light fruit esters along with grainy crackers.
Fuller end of medium body with a slight creamy texture and a crisp spicy hop bite that lingers over the sweeter notes and pale malts into a dry finish. Some piney bitterness with dank buds and spruce tip. Not to dry or sticky but has nice lingering bitterness countered by subtle hints of tart grapefruit, sweet pineapple and zesty lemon peel. Could use more of a tropical/citrus sweetness and the malt backbone slightly hinders the hops with biscuit, grainy graham cracker, bread and light fruit sweetness. There's also some boozy heat in the finish slightly taking away from the hops but the high ABV is decently masked making this strong beer pretty easy to drink.

Poured into a pint glass from bottle.
Golden yellow, fizzy but disapates quickly
Smells dank. Hoppy, tropical.
Tropical fruit, Danny, bitter. Really good.
Under the radar dipa out of San Diego. Go figure

Ummm... that was good. This was my first Saint Archer and I picked a beaut. This seriously sits up there with many other DIPAs. Could make my list in the forum if anyone ever trots out one of those "top five" posts. So, a deep gold, lighter than the usual DIPA, from a 22 to a tulip. The aroma is there: pungent florals and citrus, without being overwhelming. The flavor continued that floral/tropical theme. The initial bitters are really well balanced with a subtle malt sweetness that adds pop to the tropicals. Nice citrus finish, nor harsh alcohol. This will definitely go into the rotation... and did its job of piquing my interest in other offerings by this brewer.
