Interesting decision to throw an export-ish stout (Scottish ale) into bourbon barrels, rather than the usual giant double stout/RIS. I think it actually works, though, and sort of reminds me of Alpine's Odin's Raven barrel-aged, which is even lighter, but which managed to capture the better parts of barrel notes without getting overwhelmed by them. Again, really interesting use of barrels, and one I'd like to see explored more often, as the 12, 13, and 14% barrel bombs are fun and all but not something I'd often reach for, unlike this.
