The new limited hop varietal Idaho 7 made its way to Saint Archer and we're thrilled to present a new beer with this hop as the centerpiece. Coupling the new Idaho 7 with classic Citra has provided a unique hop profile resulting in a balance of soft apricot and bright lemon. By creating a blend of classic and brand new flavors, we have constructed a fresh IPA that will provide a new take on the notorious west coast style.

Can pour - clear deep gold/orangeish color with whits head leaving foamy/frosty lacing. Nose is citrus with herbal grassy notes.Taste follows with more citrus and bit of pine. Lingering mild bite on the finish.

Had this for the first time in September 2017.
Pours a light amber color with 1/2" white head. Aroma had little Citra, most Saint Archer ipas have been pretty aromatic hop wise, so it was a little bit of a surprise that this one showed up below average for them. What is the 7 about? Are there 6 other less aromatic hop varieties in here, but they pimped the word Citra on the can? Possible after the mundane nose. I guess its the Idaho 7 (less sexy) hop series that it comes from.
Taste was more like a mildly muted version of their other ipas. Its good, but the Idaho 7 seems to have a bigger role at every stage of this beer than the Citra. Wasn't getting much in the way of commercial tug jobs re: stone fruit, I guess the lemon was there a little, that grapefruit, lemon, pine familiarity. Idaho 7 is kinda similar to Simcoe here. Body otherwise is with that mild crystal content that isn't problematic here, other than it might provide a little unintentional cover for the Citra.

12 oz. can - canned on 02/04/2019 stamped on bottom:
Pours orange amber with a thin white lasting head. Lacing sticks.
The smell is of citrus and tropical fruitiness - orange, grapefruit, mango with a pine spiciness.
The taste is of citrus with a hint of pine - Spicy bitter bite in the finish. My original thought was a 4.0 but it does improve the more I sip on it.
It has a chewy, medium body.
This has a nice blend of Citra and Idaho 7 hops with enough malt to pull it together. A West Coast style, enjoyable IPA!

Picked up a single from TW Arrowhead 10-9-17 for $1.99. Canned on 9-8-17.
Beer poured golden orange with a solid white head that had some good hang time.
Nose is oranges forward, very nice.
Taste is orange forward balanced nicely by a decent sized malt base, with a touch of pith in the finish to let you know this is an IPA.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and refreshing.
Overall a very solid beer that is worthy of a shot!

The delirious aroma of ffuity hops is the main attraction. I hope others will try this combination of Citra and Idaho 7. Quite acidic, light and spritzy. Thin body, a real zinger, and then quite bitter in the aftertaste. Aroma of mango and orange, more in the taste.
With the resources of MillerCoors behind the brewery, they have done a good job here. My other favorite was the Mosaic DIPA of 2015. The best hops that money could buy, apparently . From the 12 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station in far north Washington.

Pours a lightly hazy straw/Amber color with decent lacing.
Nice whiffs of pineapple, orange and grass.
Taste is a bit on the hoppier side with lime, lemon, And pine. Good bite back on each sip. Long bitter aftertaste.
Overall I enjoyed this. Had to 'find' it in Tracy Ca by chance but hoping the distribution widens. Pretty good and an easy multiple drinker.
