750 ml bottle, I think it's relatively fresh since I believe Seventh Son just started bottling this one a month or so ago. Label says 8.5% ABV. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown with about an inch and a half tan head that hung around a while. There's also a lot of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, oranges/orange peel, dark bread and piney hops. It tastes like citrusy hops (orange peel, tropical fruit, grapefruit), roasted malt, nuts, chocolate, coffee, and some grainy malt/dark bread. As the beer warms, the citrus and chocolate flavors became stronger compared to the others. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit slick and is well carbonated. Overall I liked this a lot. It's a good hoppy brown ale, or as Seventh Son says on the label it's a Double India Brown Ale. It's always nice to see local breweries make good brews like this! $10.99 a bottle.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at The Daily Growler in Powell, Ohio as part of a six sample flight. It poured a dark clear amber with khaki head that is leaving a nice lace. The scent had interesting hop notes that carried a subtle fruit flare. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with dark grain malt yeast and grain sour mash like presence that gave a weird almost white wine and fruit finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

From the 22 oz bomber in a snifter via the brewery. This very nice
double India brown ale pours a deep muddled cola brown with a
fantastic head of pale khaki foam that subsides to a thick ring, thin
wafting pool, and displays some excellent lacing. Nose of pine touched
hops, orange zest, grapefruit, and subtle toasted malts. Flavors far
exceed the nose (as it did at the brewery) with grapefruit and orange
zest over a bed of sticky pine hops and a rich toasted malts showing
notes of nutty roast, subtle coffee, light chocolate, and a touch of cream.
Nice mouth feel; medium body, medium light carbonation that is lively
and lifting, and a lightly sticky hop and citrus touched lightly sweet finish.
Overall, one of our favorites when we arrived at Seventh Son to begin
our "brewcation" before meeting up with Bluejacket74 the next day
making for one of the best birthdays I have ever had.
Excellent----needs to be entered in contests---it could easily take some
awards.
Cheers

Look - super dark brown with a good lasting tan head and sticky lacing
Smell - piney hops and roasted malts.
Taste - smells hopier than it taste but it's still got some pine to it. Lots of roasted malts
Feel - medium body with a crisp carbonation
Overall - pretty good!

This is an excellent beer. It was my choice for Thanksgiving dinner.
