Belgian style stout from Seventh son collaboration with Rockmill brewing. Pours a thick velvety blackish brown with a medium thick tan head and nice lacing on the glass. Smells of chocolate, smoke, cherries, and deeply roasted malts. Taste is much like the smell. Chocolate on the back, sweet malts to the front and sides with a smoky black cherry aftertaste. Excellent mouthfeel with a light dry finish and good carbonation. Belgian influence is more pronounced with warmth. I have chased this brewer for some time and it is VERY difficult to find anything in a bottle. Very nice. I am trying the Rockmill breweries take next. Ahhhh----comparison, side by side! Cheers!

750 ml bottle. Served in a Unibroue tulip, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch light tan head. Head retention is good, and there's a lot of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like roasted malt, candy sugar, chocolate, and some earthiness. Taste is similar to the aroma, it tastes like roasted malt, milk and bittersweet chocolate, dark fruit (cherries), candy sugar, and some earthy spiciness and smoke. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating with a good amount of carbonation. It's also smooth and easy to drink. I think it's a good Belgian Stout, and a collaboration brew that I'd like to see again in the future. $12.99 a bottle.

Pours black, off white single finger head that lingers. Smell is earthy, dark fruit, chocolate, caramel, belgian yeast. Taste is a lot like the smell, dark chocolate, dark fruit, slightly smokey, nice belgian yeast flavors, some dry straw flavors. Texture is dangerously drinkable, kind of dry, not very heavy, nice amount of carbonation. Overall I am very impressed with this, it's complex, delicious, and it's a great collaboration between two of the best breweries in Ohio. The two versions are very different so it's worth noting that everyone should try both if they have access. Love me some delicious Columbus brews. This brewery can do no wrong, everything they make is gold.
