Pours a solid black with a thin brown head that has good staying power and leaves beautiful lacing. The nose is full of oak, bourbon and good sweet malt presence. The taste is oak, vanilla and roasted chocolate with a touch of alcohol. The feel is a touch thin for me. Overall, a it's a good BBA stout but no aspect of it blows me away.

750 ml bottle, bottled on 01/14/19, label says 13+ ABV (Barrel Aged Oubliette). Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with almost an inch tan head that stuck around a little while. There's also a small amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like vanilla, roasted malt, cocoa, caramel, toffee, bourbon, rum and a bit of coffee. Mainly sweet smelling. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of a bit of anise and bittersweet chocolate. It's not quite as sweet tasting as the aroma would leave me to believe, but that's not a complaint at all. Just seems like the flavors in this impy stout were more balanced between the sweet and bitter ones, although it's still good and flavorful. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. Wish I would have picked up another bottle of this to see how it ages, definitely worth picking up! $12.99 a bottle.

Still need to try non-BA Oubliette, but this is an extremely fair price for a bourbon barrel stout at $10 per 750ml bottle. Love the label. Seventh Son continues to impress.

Enjoyed December 2, 2015 on tap at Seventh Son in a tester glass.
Look - Nice tan head for taster. Dark brown murky body. Nice lacing.
Smell - Sweet. Bourbon. Vanilla. Chocolate.
Taste - Sweet. Bourbon. Toffee. Chocolate. Coffee.
Feel - Smooth. Sits well not too heavy for abv. Good carbonation.
Overall - Good barrel aged beer. Good flavor without having to add anything.
