Canned on: ?????

A - Black pour with creamy toffee colored lacing.

S - Dark malt base is subtle and squashed with spice.

T - Spice dominates this Stout with cinnamon, clove, and a touch of ginger. (unfortunately)

M - Thick, heavy, and a little frothy around the edges.

O - I really dig 7th Son beers but will pass on this one and have (5) cans left.

From the growler in a snifter via Jungle Jim's Eastgate. This solid little
brew pours a dark brownish black with a nice head of khaki foam
that settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sports some nice
light lacing. Nose of cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, cocoa, and
earthy malts amongst light char and coffee. Flavors hit the mark
with cardamom, char, coffee, cocoa, cinnamon, nutmeg, earthy
malts, and a spice cake / date bread note that is nice. Very nice
mouth feel; full body, light carbonation, coating, lightly
warming, and finishing strong on the herbal notes and bitter malt.

Overall, another solid brew from a great brewery!

Cheers

12 oz can, poured into a stout glass at ~40 degrees F and allowed to warm during consumption.

L: Poured your typical stout inky black, and formed about three fingers of fizzy tan head with okay retention.

S: An almost chai-like melange of spice wafts out the glass, mingled with some notes of cold brew coffee and bready chocolate.

T: Chai coffee confirmed indeed. Both tastes hit right up front, then roll off to the sides a bit to allow an earthy, woody, cacao character to emerge. That part is not unlike an old wooden fence post freshly uprooted. The aftertaste lingers as coffee with faint chocolate notes.

F: Smooth, full, and silky.

O: A tasty little stout. I've enjoyed some Seventh Son stouts more than this one, notably Fox In The Stout, but this ain't bad at all.

12 FLUID OUNCE can
Served in a snifter

This beer pours black and is topped with an inch of tan head that disappears quickly leaving nary a trace.

The smell is interesting. I get cocoa, coffee, hot pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

I get coffee at first. Then comes the chocolate, cinnamon, and hot pepper. The nutmeg comes in the finish probably with other spices that my untutored palate cannot distinguish.

Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

This is a decent spiced stout. Spiced stouts are not my favorite style of stout, but it is good enough for a try.

Nice coffee aroma but I am picking up a slight metallic aroma. Not as much alcohol bite as other imperial stouts. Smoother on the back end. This is no longer retired. The date on the can I had was 1/19/2020.

Overall a good stout with some nice spice notes.

Qahwah is an Imperial Arabic Coffee Stout brewed with coffee beans, cocoa nibs, cardamom, clove, ginger and cinnamon.

22 oz bottle poured into tulip glass.

A: nice small but tiny bubbled off white khaki head. Body is a rich dark black.

S: Huge amounts of cinnamon and cardamom and a light bit of ginger. I can’t really pick up the coffee at all.

T: The coffee is there but very faint, the cinnamon is the most driving force followed by some ginger and cardamom. I’m not getting much from the Cocoa nibs.

M: The bottle said this was medium bodied and it really is not full or lush at all.

O: it’s not a bad beer but it’s not spectacular by any means. I think the spices are too overwhelming and I’m surprised how little coffee there is. As it gets super warm the chocolate flavor may present itself a little in the finish.

Absolutely outstanding. The turkish coffee comes through exceptionally well and the cardamom and ginger, rather than overpower, accent the base Imp Stout beautifully.
