From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This solid little porter pours a dark pitch
black with a nice head of light brown foam that settles to a thick ring, thin
clumping layer, and sports some nice light lacing. Nose of dark bakers cocoa,
subtle orange zest, and nice char notes amongst earthy malt touches. Flavors
surpass the nose with a fine presentation of char and roasted malts dashed with
dark cocoa, orange peel, and nice earthy malts with balanced bitter hop and grassy
hop touches. Mouth feel is medium full, medium light carbonation that is near
perfect for the style, and a bitter malt finish nicely balanced with hop notes.
Overall, an excellent little porter!
Cheers

A - Pitch black pour with thick, light caramel colored soapy head encircling the glass.
S - Light to moderate cocoa aroma with a delicate touch of char.
T - Chocolate / cocoa base with light citrus over the top. Really nice ending with a lingering sweet cocoa/chocolate malt with some light citrus sweetness / bitterness over the top.
M - Medium body with soft prickly carbonation.
O - Wish I bought more of these because it has really nice chocolate presence without the ABV so it goes down easy.

I am trying this beer as a guest tap at The Getaway Brewery in Dublin, Ohio as part of a four sample flight. It poured an opaque dark with khaki head that left some lace. The scent had subtle chocolate and citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet caramel malt base. The orange becomes prevalent as the beer warms with nice chocolate accents. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.
