Pint at Stickmen in Tualatin OR
$6
Pours a light Amber color with a small tan head
Aroma of caramel and toffee malts..some nice floral hopping.
Taste like the aroma..with more hop body.
Great medium light mouth feel..well carbonated.
Very nice refreshing beer

I really want to like these guys (as I feel like they're my local brewery when I'm staying in West Linn), but they continue to make some pretty underwhelming beer. This is actually one of their better efforts (according to the beer menu at the Bier Stein, it's a pale ale brewed with centennial, cascade and mosaic hops), but it's still nothing to get excited about. On the the nose, there's some light tropical fruit and citrus, which is replicated on the palate. There's some moderate sweetness that is nicely balanced by some light hoppy bitterness, and the mouthfeel comes across as a bit thin. Alcohol is nearly undectable, and so drinkability is pretty decent. Even so, this comes across as light weight, simple, minimally pleasant pale ale. There's a lot of well made pale ales available in the NW (I'd drink SNPA in a heartbeat before I'd order this, for example), and I guess I just don't understand who or what the brewer is aiming for with this beer.
Shrug. Oh well...
