Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin brown head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet dark toasted malt, coconut and a little caramel and cocoa. Flavor is dark toasted malt, coconut, mild dark chocolate and a hint of caramel and char in the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. The porter body is a little thin on this one, pushing the coconut to the foreground. Fortunately, there are some more interesting chocolate and caramel flavors in the finish with lingering coconut and chocolate reminiscent of a Mounds bar. A satisfactory flavored porter, but needs a tweak on the malt to give it some robustness.
