Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a one finger dark khaki head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa, whiskey, mild dark dried fruit; a bit boozy. Flavor is dark toasted malt, chocolate, dried plums, whiskey and unidentifiable fresh fruit. Whiskey, chocolate and dried fruit finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A very pleasant barreled stout with a great malt body that almost leans to an imperial milk stout profile and solid whiskey flavor, although I'm not getting much rye in the character. Nice chocolate and fruit flavors, although the later seem to be mostly from the whiskey component. Surprisingly smooth and well integrated for the ABV. My first big barreled beer from Stickmen and a very well made one. I enjoyed, but was not wowed by my last few stouts and porters from them, but this one will bring me back for more.
