This is, no question, the most powerfully flavored spruce beer I have ever tasted. This one is even dry-hopped with spruce tips. Aroma is just truly weird but enthralling as you try to figure out what it is. Some sort of evil fruit? But no, it's an overdose of evergreen aromatics.
This is actually quite sippable, as the alarming spruce flavor seems to melt away about the time the hoppy and serious bitterness takes over. Between the two, though, it's not one you'll drink much of. Hops are listed as Cascade, Simcoe, and Citra. From the 16 oz can purchased at New Seasons Market.
