Review from BA Mag Issue #117 ( Oct 2016 )
Malty, Chewy, Unique, Rustic
The clarity shines with this one, a bit darker than expected and going in more of a deep golden direction. Das Kölsch has decent head retention and a semi-clean nose; it smells a bit of hop resin and bready malt. Smooth and crisp, with maltiness where it should be, although a slight buttery tone threw me off for a moment as my brain was set on a classic take on the style. A bit lighter and cleaned up somewhat and this beer would land well within Kölsch territory. Right now it’s closer to an English Golden Ale. [Jason]

L - Semi-clear/Hazy golden with 3 finger fluffy white head. Fast rising carb bubbles make the head crackle with sound. Decent lacing.
S - Crisp apple cider smell.
T - Bready maltiness and spice.
F - Crispness on the roof of the mouth.
O - The look seems to be the strongest portion of the beer, but it was decent, overall.

Clear golden pour with thin white cap. Aromas of honey, cracked black pepper, and biscuit. Grain and biscuit dominate the flavor - by far the best aspect. Really tasty stuff. Slightly more carbonation than I enjoy keeps it crisp and the finish is fairly clean. Very drinkable.

12 oz. can
Pours amber orange with a creamy frothy white foam head. Smells like concentrated grainy honey biscuity malts, some grapes, ripe pear, with mild floral grassy pine. Tastes like grapes, pear, grainy honey biscuity malt, with floral earthy grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy with moderate carbonation. Overall a nice and tasty kölsch.

Pours a slightly hazy golden straw. It's by the crystal clear I normally expect from Kolschs. Very chewy Lager. Some pils, some light bitterness. May be a touch of butter. It was alright to try once.

Very disappointing. Tons of Diacetyl in both the aroma and taste. The appearance was a clear pale straw color. Getting past the off not it was pretty grainy. Sad indeed.

Either the bar had the wrong keg on the tap or the brewer screwed up. The beer I drank is not a Kölsch.
The color was too dark, and the beer slightly cloudy. A too strong hop flavor with some malt.
The beer is not a bad beer, but it is not a Kölsch by any stretch of the imagination.

Small head but with staying power. It leaves a blanket of lace on the glass. Clear liquid with a straw to gold color.
Grainy unmalted barley on the initial whiff. There's a touch of cream.
Smooth, semisweet flavor. Still, I get a lot of raw grain. Very drinkable but rather unremarkable as a one -dimensional offering.

Can from the Craft Bier Cellar Westford.
Slightly hazy light golden color with a decent sized frothy white head that persists. Sweet bready pilsner maltiness with a touch of butterscotch on the nose. Bready pilsner earthy spicy hops and butter in the flavor with that diacytyl slickness on my palette. Not bad but the D ruins this for me.
