Poured from a 16 oz can, purchased at the brewery. Date is BB 12/1
A - Dark brown, almost black. A steady pour yielded a lovely tight knit mocah cap. Lacing is detailed and plentiful.
S - Hints of char, bakers chocolate, dark roast malt, a bit of espresso all in keeping with the style.
T - All the aromatics are present, the emphasis is in the char and chocolate areas.
M - Medium in body, a nice tension between semi sweet and bitter. Add to that an excellent dry finish.
O - A very good take on the style, an enjoyable everyday stout.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass.

Pours a near jet black color with 2 fingers of creamy dark tan head. The head has modest retention, leaving a few spots of lacing before settling into a thin sheet.

The aroma is straightforward, but dials everything up a notch. Dark chocolate, rich fudge and roasted malts assault the nostrils, followed by a tidal wave of roasted coffee beans. There's a faint hint of caramel and the absolute foggiest idea of fig on the back end.

The flavor is also straightforward but the dials are set on "Normal". Dark chocolate, roasted malts, and caramel notes are followed by some roasted coffee and a hint of vanilla. Very little hop presence.

The feel is medium bodied with soft carbonation. Very smooth and very, very dry.

Overall, this is a very good stout that is definitely straightforward, but still accomplishes everything it sets out to do. There's no in your face adjuncts or pastry additives, just malts and hops. Good shit.

No can date
Pours a large dark mocha fizzy head that fades semi quickly, lower retention, light lacing, very dark but ruby mahogany light sneaking through

Nose loads of dark chocolate, lush fudgey Belgian or Swiss mocha chocolate, light roasty coffee, lush dark creamy malt, maybe lactose, as it warms more roasty dark malts

Taste sweet milk stout like, chocolate milk, thick fudgey Belgian chocolate cocoa, lactose creamy milk, hint of roast and coffee milk, light bitterness, drier lactose finish, light bitterness overall

Mouth is med bod and creamy, medium fizzy carb almost tingly

Overall not bad, pretty solid milk sweet stout, but not really a foreign export as there is no fruit which is optional, but def way too low on roasty charred malts and bitterness, too high on the milky lactose, etc, just out of style

From the 16 oz. can with date that I can see. Sampled on September 20, 2019.

The color is chocolate brown with a short-lived and small tan head. No lacing.

The aromas consist of chocolate, licorice, roasted malts, and a slight floral hop note behind it .

Medium-full mouthfeel.

The taste is at first sweet and licorice-like but it also seems a little cardboard-like. The finish is dry and reasonably clean with a mild bitterness.

Pretty standard coffee stout across the board.

Pours jet black, dense tan head with heavy lacing.

Smells coffee, chocolate, hint of lactose sweetness.

Taste follows the nose. All around balanced. Nothing shines really.

A little thin for my taste in terms of stouts.

This isn;t bad, it just doesn;t stand out either. Coffee stouts are a dime a dozen and this one doesn;t really set itself apart.

Poured into a 16 oz snifter near room temperature canned on 10/27/17. Pours a very attractive dark brown, with a nice 2 finger light brown head, that leaves nice thick rings of lace.

Smell is dry roasty coffee, cocoa nibs, toffee, and vanilla bean.

Taste follows coffee, cocoa, toffee, biscuit, and vanilla.

Mouthfeel is a healthy creamy medium, plenty of life, maybe a tad dry, and at 7% ABV it goes down very easy, but drinks much bigger than its size.

Overall this is a very nice coffee Stout and at a very reasonable price. Well done.

On-tap 12/18/2016 at Stevie D’s Tavern in East Providence, RI, served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a short beige head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains coffee, lactose, roasted malts, molasses and a faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of coffee, molasses and lactose. Then a hearty malt character comes in. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a solid stout to drink for a long time.
