Crystal clear with a golden hue. Moderate, bar poured head. Some thicker streaks on the plastic glass (served at Alewives Tap Room in downtown Boston).
Slightly sour fully malted barley. There's a stale brewery floor note, distracting.
The flavor and body starts off true to style. Lower carbonation. Nice, soft pale malt up front This beer becomes distinct with a strong hop bite in the swallow. The aftertaste, though, is balanced with a creaminess from the malt.

Easy drinking with a balanced taste. It has great crispness and dry pleasant finish. Felt like I was in a German beer hall.

16oz can served in a willibecker. Pours a lovely straw gold with a translucent clarity and a loose, half inch, bright white head that slowly dissipates into a soapy slick. Clean nose - grassy with some hints of cereal malt sweetness. Taste consistent with nose; however perhaps a touch too sweet for the style as there's not much hops character present in the flavor profile. Mouthfeel is light in body with a pleasant, even carbonation. All and all a very drinkable Helles at a good price point ($9.99 for a 6-pack).

From the 16 oz. can that has a smudged stamped date on the bottom that looks a bit like 06/23/2017. Sampled on August 2, 2017.
The pour is an attractive golden yellow color leading up to a quickly erupting fizzy white head that dissolves as fast as it erupts. Good clarity.
The aroma brings out an essence of corn grits, white bread, and feint grassy or earthy hops. But the corn is the thing.
The mouthfeel is around medium yet it also has an acidity to it.
It tastes fairly decent with a breaded sweetness followed by an abrupt dry and lingering bitter finish.
