From the 650 ml. bottle. Sampled on May 29, 2015

Dark brown pour under a modest light brown head.

The aroma has a some light milk chocolate, dark malts, a drop of black cherry, and clean hops.

Light to medium, smooth body.

Mild roasted character in the taste and a mild to moderate bitterness at the end. The best of the four I have tried from them.

A- Black pawr, well actually not really more like a really dark brown into a pint glass. A small off-white head to about a finger with a foamy cap. Fair retention leaving a medium ring. Lacing just doesn't seem to wanna happen.

S- Not much going on for me here. Dry roastiness, toasted nuts and some caramel comes to mind immediately but it fades fast and dies out after those. A hint of spiciness.

T- Comes back with the same dry roasty and slight dark bitter chocolate feel. Caramel, vanilla sweetness, caramel and raisins. Something a bit funky, perhaps some Brett; seems like band-aid comes out late.

MF- Light bodied with a noticeable lack of much texture. Somewhat fizzy and just a bit frothy but thin and feels watery. Carbonation is fairly high and there is a light bitterness.

I really have no idea what yeast strain Howler uses. There is some spiciness and fruitiness and it could be from a Belgian/English strain or just a Brett invasion in the making. Decent roast but nothing to write home about.

Pours a darker fluffy thick creamy 1.5 finger head that fades semi slowly with nice thick lacing, super dark black beer. 4.25

Nose is infected, second beer from this brewery that's infected... wild Brett, not a great Brett either, a bad Brett, a bit of a black cocoa in the background, some dark caramel, cocoa dust, biscuit, that's about it. 2.5

Taste brings more infection again, Brett funk, bad Brett again, some black malt, cocoa and black malt, a little caramel, black caramel, roasted char. Mostly just infection though, I'm surprised it didn't erupt out of the top. Finish is a bit sticky sweet, little caramel and roasted black malt, and more Brett infection. 2.5

Mouth is med bod, lots of small bubble carb, again infection like and surprised it didn't erupt, little sticky. 3

Overall I'm really sorry I bought any beers from this brewery. I have 2 more, and if they are infected I'll definitely have to contact the brewery and tell them as this is just bad! 2

Pours smoothly with a noticeable head. Black body with deep tan head. Smooth with slight carbonation, somewhere between a lager and porter. Strong smell, but somewhat generic. Strong coffee taste, slightly alcoholic but not overly so. Very smooth feel, lingering on tongue. Overall recommended.
