Picked up a 22 oz bottle a few months ago and am opening up the bottle at cellar temp and pouring into a chalice.
The beer pours a rich dark chocolate hue with creamy tan head of 1.5 cm foaming up with a gentle pour. The head foams to a wispy surface layer that remains through the sampling.
Aroma is some chocolate malt up front but is fairly soft overall. I dont get any hops or alcohol on the nose. Nothing flawed on the nose, but not mind blowing either.
First sip reveals an average body with very fine gentle rolling carbonation. Texture is silky smooth and helps make the beer drink very easy.
Flavor is sweet malt with chocolate and a bit of roasted malt. A little chalky flavor and a lingering cocoa powder quality on my palate.
Again I dont find any hops or booze on the flavor. this beer is easy drinking, but fairly one dimensional. Could benefit from a bit thicker body and some more complexity. I had higher hopes for this one when I purchased the bottle
