Poured from a 750 into a snifter, the beer is jet black, with a foamy, bubbly, light tan head. Good flow of carbonation throughout the body. Aromas of heavily roasted coffee, subtle wood char, hints of smoke, light minty highlights, milk chocolate sweetness, and hints of booze. Flavors are richly sweet forward, with milk chocolate and sugary lactose notes highlighted by mint overlays. Char and wood spice throughout add some depth to the palate. Light, frothy body, with a solid dry edge. The aftertaste is more of the roasted coffee, char, and chocolate, with the cream and mint highlights still present, but fading. Smooth, light, creamy finish, with a solid linger of coffee, chocolate, and mint. Solid beer.
