Deep amber in color and murky. No head or lacing.
Nose is sweet dark fruit, malt, phenols, and perfume like alcohol.
Taste is malty sweet dark fruit - plums, raisins, grapes, and minor alcohol.
Body medium and smooth, balanced throughout. Carbonation is low. Finish is semi sweet.
Very much a Belgian Strong Dark, fruity, sweet, malty, and extremely drinkable. Drawback would be the very low carbonation and no creamy like mouthful. Recommended.

Poured from a bottle into a chalice glass. A brownish hazy color. Plenty of lacing. The taste was very, very good. This was part of a rotating series of limited three-packs. All three in the the three-pack were very good.

Beautiful beer, a bit of an amber in there but dark with creamy tan head that remains on top of beer and has strong lacing. Some dark fruit, smoke and alcohol in the aroma. More smoky then sweet in the taste, the dark fruit is there but comes in after the smoke. Limited bitter on the finish which was good because it could have been ashy with the smoke. Overall it is very balanced without to much sweet on the end. Rich mouth feel, creamy. Overall an interesting Strong Dark. More smoke then you would expect, more like Porter or Stout, very tasty.
