Appearance: The body of the beer is hazy and has a bronze color. There is a short cap of creamy textured foam which is slightly off-white. The head slowly fades out to a ring. No lasting lacing.
Aroma: It has an odd aroma of green peas. Nothing else comes through.
Taste: Oddly that green pea aroma makes it into the flavor as well. There is a bit of cinnamon flavor in the middle of the palate. Bitter bark flavor is on the back of the palate and it lingers in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: The beer is on the lower end of medium-bodied with a bit of smoothness. It has a strong bitterness which feels off. It is a bit of a chore to drink.
Overall: At first I thought there was something else giving off that green pea aroma because I've never smelled it in a beer before. I was very surprised to pick it up in the flavor as well. It is a very strange tasting beer. The label says that this is an "IMPERIAL AMERICAN BLONDE ALE WITH APPLES & SPICES." The apples don't show up at all. There is some cinnamon flavor but it isn't enough to save this beer. It is still drinkable but the strong bitterness makes it hard to drink, especially for a Blonde Ale. I would not buy it again and I would recommend passing on this one.
