The colour is deep cold brown (70 EBC), the liquid is clear. The finger thick head quickly sinks to a thin off-white lid. No lacing.
The smell is malty and a little dusty. Dried fruits and hay. Red berries and limestone plus a touch of stables.
The taste is malty with lots of red/brown malt. Rye crisp bread and pumpernickel. Hints of apricots and raspberry candy. Medium body. The aftertaste adds some bitterness, hay and alcohol. The finish is a bit murky with flavours of caramel and old coffee.
The carbonation is mild, the mid-sized bubbles are short-lived. The liquid is semi-smooth.
Well, too much “brown” flavours and somewhat murky.
