On tap @ Beer Study, Chapel Hill
A- pours a hazy dark amber color with ah small creamy white head that leaves some nice lacing behind
S- fruity nose with some caramel malt, barrel aroma is immediately noticed with aromas of toasted oak & bourbon, peppery spicy rye
T- barrel notes are stronger in taste than aroma with flavors of barrel juice, charred oak and spicy rye. Subtle notes of fruity hops try to come through but are dominated by the barrel, sweet caramel malty finish
M- medium body and carbonation lead to a creamy mouthfeel that continues to the finish
O- nice barrel notes, but they overpower the base beer, almost like drinking watered down whiskey
